Signed on loan in February 2003 by Gary McAllister the Spanish international (19 caps) was in the death throes of his career when he came to Coventry. The stocky midfielder showed some nice skilful touches but struggled with the pace of the English game in a poor City team. In his prime he played for Spanish clubs Valodollid, Celta Vigo, Valencia and Real Majorca (with whom he played in the Champions League) and he is the only Spanish born black player to play for his country.
