Academy graduate Bayliss made an immediate impact on his league debut, scoring within two minutes contributing to a 2–1 victory against Cheltenham Town. During the 2017–18 season, he scored six goals, playing a pivotal role in Coventry City's promotion to EFL League One. In August 2019, Bayliss transferred to Preston North End for a reported £2 million. He later had stints with Wigan Athletic (on loan), Shrewsbury Town, and, as of July 2024, Lincoln City.
