Tom Bates

A left sided midfield player who came through local teams Mount Nod Highway Youth and Bedworth United Youth before joining Coventry City. He made his debut for the Sky Blue's reserves on 2 April 2003 against West Ham United Reserves and ten days later made his one and only appearance as a 77th minute substitute against Ipswich Town. Released at the end of the 2003-4 season he went on to play briefly for Stratford Town before joining Northern Irish team Ards. He returned later that season to the Coventry area due to work commitments and subsequently appeared for Bedworth United, Brookland Jaguar, Massey Ferguson and Leamington FC and had a brief spell with Rochdale.
