The Trinidad & Tobago international joined from Birmingham for £200,000 in September 2004 and scored a penalty on his debut. With City in dire financial straits the board released some of the proceeds of the sale of Calum Davenport to enable Peter Reid to sign the skilful West Indian who had previously played for Nottingham Forest and Birmingham. Whilst not always the most popular of players at Coventry (the fans’ perception was that he was lazy) he had a good goalscoring ratio and was normally deadly if given space in the box. In early 2005-06 he was allowed to join Derby on loan but it was a disastrous move and he returned to Coventry and forced his way into the first team where, motivated by a place in Trinidad’s World Cup finals squad, he again netted double figures. The following season his form dipped and with his contract coming to an end he was sold to Sunderland in the transfer window for £250,000 and picked up a Championship medal for his fifteen appearances and four vital goals.
