
Leon was signed for the club by Micky Adams on the transfer deadline in August 2006 for a fee reputed to be £600,000 with add-ons. Leon started as an apprentice at Crystal Palace and in five years at the club made almost 100 appearances as well as loan periods at Fulham and Peterborough. In 2000 he moved to Posh permanently and was a very successful striker scoring a goal every other game in 90 league games. Norwich paid £325,000 for him in 2003 and he became an instant success with the fans after scoring two goals in his debut against local rivals Ipswich. His nine goals in 18 games helped the Canaries to promotion to the Premiership in his first season. In the top division Leon struggled and only came to life after the signing of Dean Ashton as a striking partner. His late flurry of goals was unable to keep the Canaries up. After an injury hit 2005-06 season he sought a move and joined City.
