The twin brother of Craig Middleton and the right-back in the 1987 FA Youth Cup winning side. Lee was normally a central defender and was expected to fill Trevor Peake’s shoes but a serious back injury forced him to retire from the professional game. He had an unsuccessful trial with Swindon in 1992 before teaming up with another former City youth player Michael Cook at non-league Corby. He later had a spell at Atherstone and played with his brother at Bedworth.
