Bobby Gould took the Bournemouth player on loan in January 1993. On his debut at Norwich the left-sided player set up a goal for Micky Quinn but after one more substitute appearance he returned to the South Coast. The following summer saw him move to West Ham for £110,000. In five years with the Hammers he played almost 100 games and won 18 caps for his country. In 1998 he was part of a double deal that took him and Iain Dowie to QPR. At Loftus Road he failed to become a regular in his three seasons, making 50-odd appearances, many as a substitute before a move to Chesterfield. Injuries restricted his appearances and he was forced to retire from full-time football in 2004 and was last heard of playing for Hornchurch.
