The Australian goalkeeper moved to England after representing his country at the 1992 Olympics in Barcelona. He made a name for himself at Cambridge United and Ron Atkinson signed him for Coventry for £300,000 in early 1995, as cover for Steve Ogrizovic. He leapfrogged Jonathan Gould and made an impressive debut in a ‘must-win’ game at Tottenham in 1995 after Oggy broke a leg. The following season he was first choice until Oggy recovered but could not dislodge the big man and joined Blackburn in 1997 for £700,000. After dislodging Tim Flowers at Ewood he was part of the Rovers team relegated in 1999 but helped them bounce back the following year before moving to Wigan where he was the first choice for five years. In August 2007 he looked set to sign for Sydney FC but the deal fell through. Three full caps for Australia.
