
Versatile Bailey was adept as a midfielder and right-back. He began his career with Crewe Alexandra, making his first-team debut in December 2007. In 2010, Bailey transferred to Derby County, where he featured in 59 league matches and scored once. During his tenure, he had an extended loan spell at Coventry City for the 2012-13 season, each yielding 15 appearances and a goal. Bailey joined Barnsley in 2014, his career then took an international turn with FC Pune City in the Indian Super League in 2015, and subsequent stints included Ottawa Fury in 2016, Carlisle United in 2017, and Yeovil Town from 2017 to 2019. In total, Bailey amassed 233 league appearances and five goals.
