Iyesden was impressive as a striker in the City youth and reserve teams but sadly only got two substitute chances in the first team during Ron Atkinson’s reign, at Blackburn and Hull the latter in a League Cup game. In 1997 after loans at Bournemouth and Mansfield Christie joined the latter. 23 goals in 80-odd games at Field Mill persuaded Leyton Orient to pay £40,000 for him in 1999 but he rarely repeated his form. He returned to Mansfield and has subsequently played for Rochdale and Kidderminster Harriers.
