A goalkeeper who joined City as a 17-year old from Oadby Town in December 1956, soon after first team keeper Reg Matthews was sold to Chelsea for a world record £22,500. Reg’s replacement Alf Bentley was released the following summer and Charlie Ashcroft was signed. Graham, as the number two ‘keeper, got his chance when Ashcroft was injured. He received some rave reviews for his early performances but he was playing behind a decidedly dodgy defence. After 26 successive appearances he was dropped following a 7-1 defeat at Southampton and played only two more games. He played briefly for Rugby Town before doing his National Service and subsequently joined the Post Office with whom he had a long career.
