Checkatrade Trophy winner 2017
Born in Burundi, Bigirimana moved to the United Kingdom with his family as a refugee in 2004. He asked for a trial with City as an 11 year old and his perseverance paid off as he was signed up by the club and was Championship Apprentice of the Year 2011–12. He showcased his technical ability, composure on the ball, and tenacity in midfield and broke into Coventry's first team during a challenging period for the club, standing out as a bright prospect.
Bigirimana moved to Newcastle United but never made the impact at the higher level and returned to City on loan before signing a permanent deal with City. After leaving City for the second time Bigirimana has had spells in Scotland, Solihull, Tanzania and Northern Ireland without hitting the heights his early career promised.
