A skilful midfield player brought in on loan from Ipswich by Micky Adams in November 2006. Darren appeared in eight games and brought some much needed width and some delicious crosses. After four unbeaten games he was one of the scapegoats of the 0-5 drubbing at West Brom and featured little afterwards. A product of the West Ham youth set-up Darren is a nephew of former England player Tony Currie and made his name with Barnet and Wycombe Wanderers before a good spell with Ipswich. After leaving City he had a trial with LA Galaxy and a loan spell with Derby and Luton.
