
He began his career in Derby County's youth system, joining from Nottingham Forest at age nine. Ball made his senior debut for Derby County in 2010, accumulating 29 league appearances and scoring three goals until 2014. During this period, he had loan spells at Coventry City, Torquay United, and Notts County. In 2014, he signed with Scottish club St Mirren. Subsequent clubs included Corby Town, Barwell, Nuneaton Town, Stamford, and Stratford Town. Ball retired from professional football after his stint with Stratford Town in 2019.
