A product of City’s youth scheme in the 1960s he was a regular in midfield for the reserves and made his only appearance as a substitute in the Second Division championship season. He returned to the reserves and with the club having quality youngsters like Carr and Paddon emerging he was released in February 1968. He joined Southern League Weymouth and played over 200 games for the Dorset club, later playing for Salisbury City.
