In the spring of 2003 Jephcott was one of several home grown youngsters thrown in at the deep end by Gary McAllister as City slid down the table after Christmas. The tall striker returned from a strong loan spell at Tamworth and made his first and only appearance for four minutes as a substitute at home to Leicester. He was given a one-year contract and the following season he played five minutes in the same role against Peterborough in the League Cup. In 2004 he joined Nuneaton on a free transfer but soon after suffered from meningitis. Since recovering he has played for Rugby United, Ards in Northern Ireland, Stratford Town and Leamington FC.
