A product of City’s Academy system, Andy captained the youth team in 2003 and won a first team call-up as a right-back. In 2003-04 he became the regular in the number 2 shirt and although sometimes exposed for pace always gave 100%. In 2004-05 he lost out to first Louis Carey and later Richard Duffy but in the final game at Highfield Road he came off the bench to score a stunning sixth goal against Derby which transpired to be the final goal at the old stadium and the club’s goal of the season. He regained his place in the team halfway through the 2005-06 season and put in some good solid performances in an impressive City revival. The following season was his final one at Coventry and despite losing his right-back place to David Mcnamee he gave his all in a number of games at left-back. Released in 2007 he joined Brighton where he had a two-month loan the previous season.
