
His early life involved moves from Guinea to the Netherlands and later to England, where he began his football career. Bakayoko joined Walsall's youth system and signed his first professional contract in December 2013. He made his senior debut for Walsall in April 2014 and had loan spells at Southport, AFC Telford United, and Worcester City to gain experience. In 2018, he transferred to Coventry City, contributing to their promotion to League One and becoming popular with fans despite not nailing down a first team spot. Three years later, Bakayoko signed with Bolton Wanderers, then in 2023, he joined Forest Green Rovers and was loaned to Dundee in the Scottish Premiership. In 2024, Bakayoko moved to Japan to play for Hokkaido Consadole Sapporo in Japan's J2 League. Internationally, he debuted for Sierra Leone in 2022 and has since earned 16 caps, scoring four goals.
